Radio: "Stafford's World" Sundays 6 to 9 p.m.

This is LMF's first radio recommendation. From time to time we'll delve into the back of your radio and dig out something to surprise and delight. Our first recommendation is for people who musically want to mix the best of old and new in one well informed three hour programme.

It's on Radio Caroline - yes really! Sky Channel 0199 or www.radiocaroline.co.uk will do it. Caroline's output now coming from studios in Maidstone is variable but "Stafford's World" is consistently excellent.

Mark Stafford's presentation is economical and well-informed but best of all he has an equally good ear for an obscure single from the sixties or a brand new album. He picks the best US records from Cashbox charts of years gone by and links them effortlessly to the events of the time. A gem of a programme....try it!

Thank you for the very nice comments about the show and the excellent write-up on your blog.

I am extremely grateful.

Sometimes I think I exist in my own "time-warp" where the little gems of long-forgotten tracks that I alone remember exist ! Then I get emails from people like yourself and others, who restore my faith that I wasn't alone in living through the 60's and 70's and appreciating a lot of music that is now sadly long-forgotten by the masses.

Thanks again.

All the best
Mark Stafford
