Music: Mouse and The Traps

So why aren't they better known? I've played their magnificent "Sometimes You Just can't Win" on the wireless a few times and always had good feedback. I decided to find out a bit more about this long defunct West Coast Garage band and have just acquired "The Fraternity Years" at a knock-down price via Amazon. It's full of really good three minute pop / rock songs. The recording quality sounds a bit rough by today's standards but so what? Mr Mouse (for it is he) does his level best to sound like Bob Dylan (circa Highway 61) and succeeds quite magnificently but LMF forgives him this attempt at being a copycat by virtue of his nifty arrangements and good songs. At worst splendidly derivative at best really really original. If you can pick it up for a fiver or so you won't regret it.
